The Feng Shui Story of Finding a Job

“... and the problem seemed to start after we moved into this house”.

This kind of comment is one that a Feng Shui consultant hears quite often.

Why Feng Shui?

Previously developing large corporate IT projects, Alan’s career seemed to have hit the buffers, and the start of the decline coincided with his move into this property. The connection seemed too strong to ignore, so after being out of work for a number of years, he decided to see if Feng Shui could help to get his career going again.

Feng Shui evaluation

In a case like this, the first part of the process is to see if and how the characteristics of the property could contribute to Alan’s situation; the following key factors were found:

  • Looking at the physical form, the yang (male) part of the property (shown blue in the diagram) is much smaller than the yin territory - this can put the male at a disadvantage.
  • A significant chunk of the southern part of the garden, the “Father” part is cut off or “missing”
  • There were very tall trees in the neighbours garden; effectively growing in the missing area and blocking “Father” energies.
  • The shrubs and bushes at the front of the house were overgrown, which both partially hid the front door. This area coincided with Alan’s career area.
  • The way the pathways in front of the house were working was unhelpful, creating a very fast and disturbed energy around the front door.
  • According to the Chinese compass, the exact magnetic alignment of the property was not helpful for Alan given the energetics of his own particular astrology.

The final picture; a sum of the parts

When you put all of these things together, it is certainly consistent with Alan’s experiences.

Feng Shui recommendations

So once we can see the problem, we need to see how to fix them, and in this case, the recommendations primarily came down to three key points:

  • Place a large rock in the back garden, on a spot calculated by use of the Chinese compass.
  • Clear and tidy the unkempt area at the north of the property.
  • Add gates to the pathways in the front garden.

Results

  • Within a few days of installing the rock, the owner of the trees that were blocking the southern aspect, began to thin some of them out; certainly an early sign that we had hit the right spot.
  • Alan's own energy improved dramatically and a few weeks later he landed a good consulting job that got him back working where he wanted to be.
  • Nine months or so later this came to an abrupt end, after which he was able to move quite quickly into another interesting and challenging role.
  • A year or so has now passed since the consultation; Alan is now doing extremely well, is once again looking forward to a great future, and finds head hunter agencies regularly knocking on his door.
