Physical Form and Business Stability
The Feng Shui perspective
Chi, or natural energy, follows the physical form.
In other words, the shape of things tends to influence the way they interact with people, so putting a business into a place that looks like it’s going to fall down just isn’t a smart move.
The Equitable Life story
The Equitable Life insurance company was at one time a successful and thriving business. Then it moved its European Headquarters into this building in Aylesbury, aptly known by the locals as the “Blue Lean”.
You probably know the rest of the story from here, but suffice to say Equitable Life is no longer the business it once was.
Coincidence?
It is easy to write off any one example as coincidence. However, when you view the world from the Feng Shui viewpoint, you tend to see coincidence after coincidence after coincidence. There comes a point where you have to accept that “something” is going on. The study of Feng Shui provides methods to interpret and understand a little more about what that “something” might be.
The Bigger Picture
Of course, there are many factors that influence the success or failure of any business; the Feng Shui characteristics of the building are just one. If you are keen to do the best for your business, Feng Shui can help to find or design a supportive place to do that.

The “Blue Lean”
If you put a business in a place that looks like it’s going to fall down, the chances are that the business will follow the “collapsing” form of the building -
- Equitable Life certainly did.
